Marigold flower belongs to the compositae family and tagetes erecta. 
It is an annual herb and widely planted in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Gansu,Shanxi, Yunnan , etc.
Our company has 150,000 mu planting base in Gansu  province. Based on the local situation of special soil environment 
and lighting condition , the local marigold have characteristics like growing fast,long flowering period ,
high productive capacity and adequate quality.

Lutein is extracted from marigold flower. Lutein is kind of xanthophyll and one of naturally occurring carotenoids. Usually lutein coexists with its isomer zeaxanthin, and they can be interconverted in the body. Lutein is synthesized only by plants. Humans and mammals must obtain lutein from food. Lutein is not only a natural coloring agent, but also great material for supplements.

Lutein is used as a colouring agent in foods such as baked goods and baking mixes, beverages and beverage bases, breakfast cereals, chewing gum, dairy product analogs, egg products, fats and oils, frozen dairy desserts and mixes, gravies and sauces, hard candy, infant and toddler foods (other than infant formula), milk products, processed fruits and fruit juices, soft candy, and soups and soup mixes. The intended food uses and use levels (2.0 -330 mg/kg) are presented in Appendix 1
